Cruising on the Maggie II
The MAGGIE II, is a restored and redesigned tugboat, and has been in business for the past three years touring the adjoining rivers, lakes and marsh.Maggie was one of the last working tugboats on the Ottawa river, and comes with the original British Certificate of Registration issued in 1946.

She is thirty five feet long, with heavy steel construction and powered by a reliable 60 HP diesel engine. Capacity is twenty passengers with indoor and outdoor seating on two levels. Cherry panelling and oak floors highlight the interior. Large sliding glass windows provide optimum viewing. There is also an onboard washroom. All life jackets, safety and navigation equipment are included. There are no special permits or certification needed to operate this boat.

The Maggie has become a familiar and popular feature on the over fifty miles of waterway she tours. As there are no other commercial cruise boats on the system, this part of the operation is becoming increasingly successful each year. With the increased interest in eco tourism the tours into the Conroy Marsh area are becoming quite popular, as the only access into this several thousand acre conservation area is by water. In addition, chartering the boat has become a popular choice for weddings, family reunions, office parties and other group functions.
